Finance Specialist
Grays Harbor Conservation District is hiring a full-time Finance Specialist to support financial operations under the direction of the Director of Finance. This non-exempt, non union position offers $28–$32/hour (DOE) and includes employer-paid PEBB benefits. The job announcement should not be considered an all-inclusive listing of work requirements. Duties and responsibilities are also subject to change by the employer as the needs of the District and requirements of the job change. This position will be responsible for managing accounts payable and receivable, processing payroll, reconciling financial transactions, and assisting with compliance and reporting. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a financial field, proficiency in accounting software (Springbrook Express preferred), and strong attention to detail. An associate’s degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred, though related work experience may be substituted. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the District’s mission in a collaborative, public-serving environment.
Key Duties:

Process monthly payroll and prepare W-2s, 1099s, and SOA reports

Administer employee benefits and process healthcare transmittals

Code and enter financial transactions, including grant-related data

Reconcile accounts, assist with invoices, vouchers, and budget tracking

Provide front desk customer service and general administrative support
Minimum Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience

2+ years in a financial role; familiar with BARS codes & accounting software
-
Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills
-
Valid WA driver’s license and background check clearance
Preferred:
-
CPA or FPC certification

5+ years of experience; knowledge of state/federal grant accounting

Experience with Springbrook Express
Work Location:
District Office in Elma, WA, with the possibility of occasional events or weekend work.
