Veteran Conservation Corps
Habitat Restoration Crew Internship
Full-Time | $1600-3200/ month| Based in Elma, WA
The Grays Harbor Conservation District (GHCD) is recruiting a Veterans Conservation Corps (VCC) Intern to assist with prairie habitat monitoring and restoration across the Chehalis Watershed in Thurston, Lewis, and Grays Harbor counties. This internship will work with the Watershed Restoration Program and partner agencies to support conservation efforts across southwest Washington. The position will be based out of Elma, WA, with field work throughout the watershed. The position will remain open until filled.
About the Position
The VCC Intern will support habitat restoration and monitoring efforts, including invasive species removal, native plant seeding, and field data collection for plant, pollinator, and bird communities. The intern will also assist with outreach to landowners about conservation grazing practices and conservation programs. Most work will take place outdoors in varying terrain and weather conditions, often during full field days with a small crew.
Pay & Benefits

Full-time stipend: $3,200/month (40 hours/week)
Part-time stipend: $1,600/month (20 hours/week) -
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible)
