Riparian Restoration Crew Member
Full-Time | $21/hr | Benefits | Based in Elma, WA
The Grays Harbor Conservation District (GHCD) is recruiting permanent, 40 hr/week Riparian Restoration Crew Members to join our Watershed Restoration Program. Positions are anticipated to begin in winter 2025/2026 and are dependent on continued grant funding. Work is based out of Elma, WA with job sites throughout Grays Harbor County.
About the Position
Restoration Crew Members support on-the-ground habitat restoration, including native plant installation and maintenance, invasive species control, small-scale in-stream construction, fencing installation, and field data collection. Work is outdoors year-round in varying terrain and weather.

Marine Resiliency Technician
Full-Time | $21/hr | Benefits | Based in Grays Harbor County
The Grays Harbor Conservation District (GHCD) is recruiting a Marine Resiliency Technician to support our European Green Crab (EGC) Program. This full-time, grant-funded position works under the Marine Resiliency Program Manager and focuses on year-round fieldwork throughout Grays Harbor Bay, including trapping, site scouting, data collection, equipment/boat maintenance, and partner coordination.
About the Role
The Marine Resiliency Technician will:

Assist with locating and assessing EGC trapping sites
-
Conduct trapping, monitoring, and prospecting by land and boat
-
Operate and maintain boats, traps, gear, and equipment
-
Follow all decontamination and safety protocols
-
Collect, record, and manage field data
-
Coordinate with agencies, landowners, and industry partners
-
Support outreach and attend program events
-
Perform office-based data tasks during winter months or unsafe weather
Required Qualifications
-
Comfortable working outdoors in mud, uneven terrain, and inclement weather
-
Able to lift 50 lbs and work variable hours (“trap with the tides”)

Comfortable on watercraft; proficient swimmer
-
Fieldwork experience and ability to work independently
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-
Basic proficiency with Excel; willingness to learn Survey123/QuickCapture
-
Valid driver’s license
-
Washington Boater Safety Card (or ability to obtain within 1 month)
-
High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience operating boats and knowledge of marine safety and tides
-
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related field
-
Experience with invasive species management
-
Familiarity with Washington estuarine/marine ecosystems
-
First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)

Experience working with the public or in collaborative settings
