This VSP cost share project was located on a beef cattle farm which intersects with three critical areas: Wetlands, Critical Aquifer Recharge Areas, and Frequently Flooded Areas. A VSP site visit involving GHCD staff was conducted with the landowner about his proposed project. The Roof Runoff Structure provided a “win, win” situation by enhancing both critical areas and agricultural viability. By building a Roof Runoff Structure, runoff is collected and conveyed to a safe outlet. The action keeps excess runoff water out of concentrated livestock areas. Water from the roof is delivered to stable outlet, minimizing surface erosion.
This project was completed in June 2020.
