Water quality degradation is a resource concern in Grays Harbor attributed to cranberry production. New chemigation unit regulations have been adopted to improve pesticide application to protect ground water from pesticide contamination. A cranberry grower in the North Bay area had pump houses in need of updated wiring to work properly with the chemigation unit. Installing a chemigation unit brought the cranberry farm up to state regulations, and will improve water quality to the North Bay area.
The unit was installed in June 2019.
